While a lot of Bollywood celebrities immediately reacted to Prime Miniter Modi’s sudden step of banning the 500 and 1000 rupees notes (Bollywood Reacts To Narendra Modi's Ban Of Rs 500 & Rs 1000 Notes, Nov 8). Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to express his opinion on the recent development in the Indian economy. In a tweet he heaped praise on the move indicating that PM’s step will bring a positive change for Indian economy.

His tweet reads, “Farsighted. Extremely smart. And not politically motivated. Will bring such a positive change for Indian economy. Great move @narendramodi”

On Nov 8, PM Narendra Modi had announced the abolition of high-value currency notes from Tuesday midnight in a move to wipe out black money, corruption and counterfeit currency from the nation. This generated a lot of buzz among the general public and also Bollywood. A lot of B-Town celebs appreciated PM’s move. When contacted, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan texted us back saying, "A brilliant move by our PM to curb black money. Bravo. Maybe inconvenient it would be for a few initially, but better in the long run.Watch the economy boom."

Kahaani producer Jayantilal Gada adds, "Yes those outside people who wanted to make hay after the Studios collapsed may be wiped out, but then did they matter? Do they have any idea of cinema? What difference would it make if they have been stopped in their tracks? In fact, isn't that a blessing in disguise?"

Surely Bollywood is happy with the latest development and so is Shah Rukh Khan, a little late but that’s okay!
